The Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) is a connected Indian film franchise created by Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj.

It’s similar to how Hollywood has the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), but this one is based on gritty, grounded action thrillers with interconnected characters and stories.
Movies in LCU –
#1. Kaithi

San’s Film Rating : 7.8/10
My Review :
This movie was released in 2019 and is a really good film. The most interesting thing about it is that it’s interconnected, and I enjoy watching such kinds of movies. I also liked the direction, storyline, and the actor’s performance.
A Bollywood remake titled Bholaa (2023) was made, but it is not as good as the original and is not directly a part of the LCU, though it is based on Kaithi.
You can watch the original movie for free on MX Player, and it is also available on other paid platforms. It has been dubbed in several languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
#2. Vikram

San’s film Rating : 7.5/10
My Review:
In this movie, the lead role is played by Kamal Haasan, a legendary South Indian actor. Even at the age of 70, he delivers an energetic and powerful performance. What I liked most about the film is its interconnected storyline, but I also enjoyed the performances of other actors, such as Vijay Sethupathi as the villain, Arjun Das as Anbu, and Fahadh Faasil as Agent Amar.
Rolex (suriya) introduced in the climax – Future villan , make it more interesting.
You can watch this movie on Jio Hotstar, for free and it is available in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
#3. Leo

San’s Film Rating : 7/10
My Review:
In this movie, Vijay Sethupathi plays the lead role as Leo, while Sanjay Dutt takes on the villain’s role. Both of their performances make the film even more powerful.
It is a great movie, and what makes it especially interesting is that it is interconnected with the larger storyline, which encourages viewers to watch all the related films so they don’t miss any part of the plot.
You can watch it on Netflix, where it is available in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
In LCU the Drug Mafia is the backbone (from Kaithi to Leo), Rolex (Suriya) is emerging as the powerful villain and characters from one film are teased or referenced in another.
“In my next blog, I will talk about the upcoming movies of the LCU.”
